Peking Duck in the Crockpot - Adapted from an authentice Peking duck recipe, we found a way to make it work in the crockpot! The secret? Elevate the bird while slow cooking, so it does not sit directly on the bottom of the pot. If you like traditional Peking duck, then you must try the crockpot version of this easy, International holiday recipe

Ingredients to make Peking Duck in the Crockpot
4 to 5 pound duck
5 whole green onions
4 star anise
1 inch ginger, peeled
2 tsp Chinese 5 Spice (or you can make your own.)
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp nutmeg
1 T honey
2 T soy sauce
*BONUS* Plum Sauce 1/3 cup plum jam
–1 T soy sauce
–1 T sugar
–1 tsp garlic powder
Directions to make Peking Duck in the Crockpot
Use a 6 quart crockpot, and insert a cooking rack of somesort in the bottom of your pot. wash the green onions and lay on top of the rack.
Skin the duck the best you can. Peel ginger and stuff inside cavity, with the star anise. In a small bowl, combine dry spices. Rub all over the bird, inside and out. Place the duck inside your crockpot, breast up. Drizzle on soy sauce and honey.
Cover and cook on high for 4 hours. Serve with plum sauce

Beef Pot Roast, Oriental Style - This shanghai, saucy, beef pot roast recipe is phenomenal! Meaty chuck eye roast is used, and can be slowly oven baked, or slowly simmered stove top, whichever you prefer. Ingredients to make Beef Pot Roast, Oriental Style
5 lb Beef chunk eye roast, boneless
2 tb Cooking fat
Salt Pepper
1/2 c Onion, chopped
1/2 c Green pepper, diced
1/4 c Soy sauce
1/4 c Dry sherry wine
1 t Ginger, fresh grated; OR
1/4 ts, ground ginger
1/2 c Water
4 oz Sliced mushrooms,drained, save liquid
2 tb Cornstarch
Hot cooked rice
